    Interested in your comments on calculating fluid loss thru sweat. Generally agree with guidance but to make the calculation as accurate as possible it would be best to empty bladder before the run and measure output of urine right away at the end of the run. this would give you an accurate balance. Basic principle of fluid balance studies. Comments about fluid are very good. Enjoyed the show.

    Andy – Thanks for the comments. Yes, starting your run on an empty bladder is a must, but it is a must for ANY run!!

    Don’t get to caught in in doing an output check, unless you are an Olympic class or professional athlete, have a medical condition that requires fluid monitoring, or are having real problems controlling fluid loss or gain. To get caught up in trying to do scientific output testing is just too much for the vast majority of runners.
